Second Locally Designated Historic District
On August 10th, 2016 Marietta's City Council approved the City's second locally designated historic district; the Church Cherokee Streets Historic District.
Certificate of Appropriateness
Property owners or occupants within a historic district must obtain a Certificate of Appropriateness (CoA) for any work project involving an exterior change to the appearance of any property. This includes new construction, demolition, or a material change in appearance.
A CoA is not required for interior changes to a building or minor repairs.
